Summer Beach Patrols
Shoalhaven City Council has recently commenced the annual beach patrol service, with lifeguards set to keep watch over a number of the area’s busiest beaches across the summer months.
Scheduled patrols are as follows –
Monday to Friday – excluding Public Holidays – commenced Monday 3 December 2012 to Friday 1 March 2013.
• South Mollymook Beach
Monday to Friday – excluding Sundays and Public Holidays – Monday 24 December 2012 to Tuesday 29 January 2013.
• North Mollymook Beach (Beach Road)
Shoalhaven City Council Aquatics Manager, Kevin Norwood said that with Council providing an annual Beach Patrol Service, it was extremely important to remain vigilant in the water and swim between the flags at all times.
“With summer now upon us, plenty of local residents will be taking advantage of the great conditions and heading to the beach,” said Mr Norwood.
“While conditions may sometimes look calm, it is very important to always swim between the flags and heed advice from patrolling lifeguards.
“In addition to Council’s service, Surf Life Saving Clubs will be providing volunteer beach patrols to the public each weekend and on public holidays until Sunday, 28 April 2013.”
“Council’s annual Beach Patrol Service will be used to complement the existing and extremely valuable patrols carried out by the area’s four Surf Life Saving Clubs.”
