2008 South Coast Wine Show

The 2008 South Coast Wine Show judging will take place at the Milton Showground, Milton, NSW on Friday 25th January 2008. This event, sponsored by Bawley Liquor Barn and Hazcorp Pty. Ltd., is a showcase for wines from the South Coast Zone which incorporates the Shoalhaven Coast and Southern Highlands wine regions.

The judging panel of three will be chaired by David Morris of Morris Wines, Rutherglen. He is highly qualified and experienced with an enviable reputation and has judged at the National Small Winemakers, Rutherglen, Cowra, Griffith, Swan Hill and Melbourne Wine Shows.

Russell Cody is the Group Senior Red Winemaker at McWilliams Wines at Yenda NSW, and has judged at many wine shows, including Melbourne, Rutherglen, Cowra, Small Winemakers and Griffith.

David Lowe has judged in many shows since 1982, including Cowra, Canberra, Hunter Valley and NSW Wine Experience. He is the owner and winemaker of Lowe Family Wines at Mudgee and Pokolbin and is President of the NSW Wine Industry Association.

A public tasting will take place between 6 and 8pm on Saturday 26th January, 2008, at the Milton Show Ground, Croobyar Rd. Milton, NSW. This is a casual, interactive evening, enabling the public to taste all wine show entries including the medal winners. The entry fee of $15 per person includes Unicorn cheese and delicious finger food.

In 2007, two hundred people including locals and visitors to the area for the Australia Day weekend attended and tasted 155 entries from 25 vineyards and wineries. 77 medals comprising 6 gold, 14 silver and 57 bronze were awarded. For people wishing to order wines, price lists/order forms will be available on the night.
