Milton revives its pioneer spirit every October long weekend
The annual Milton Settlers Fair is jam packed
with entertainment, displays and music

Held on the October long weekend, the music starts on Friday 3rd October with a concert at the Milton Theatre by The Carnation Project, a fresh, original outfit based in Melbourne, creating a fusion of RnB, reggae, funk and soul featuring the sweet voice of Zoe Kalenderidis.

Saturday 4th features the monthly Milton Village Markets and the Milton Music Fest presented by MUD Music Council and Escape artFEST, the annual Southern Shoalhaven Arts Festival, the day offers a variety of musical performances, kids rides and more, buskers welcome!

That night at the Milton Theatre is the Scared Weird Little Guys - “Australia’s funniest musical comedy duo”, presented by artFEST & MUD Music Council.

Sunday 5th kicks off with the Glorious Mudsingers at the Milton Theatre followed by ‘Open Mic at the Theatre’, giving anyone the chance to perform on stage for their own 15 minutes of fame, this is a free presentation by the Milton Theatre Management Committee.

The Wason Street entertainment centre in the middle of town is the venue for a variety of performances, starting off with a traditional ‘Welcome to Country’ by Noel Butler from our first settlers, the Budawang family group at 11.00am.

Then it’s the Bordonian Heritage Dancers, dressed in historical costumes, this group perform music and dance from our colonial past.

On Sunday a full day of great entertainment and activities from clowns, magicians, story tellers, street theatre performers, there are also kids rides and lots of craft and nick-nack stalls at the Village markets, all in the centre of town. Plenty of good country fun.

There will also be lots of entertainment with local bands providing an excellent range of music, the hands on farm animal exhibit, carriage rides, jumping castle.

Children will be catered for with fun rides, and free entertainment from Zamboni the Magician and the Circus 35 South group. Families can take part in the ‘Ghost of Milton’ history walk with local historian Cathy Dunn. The
Ghosts of Milton History walk will leave from the Milton Cultural Centre at time to be confirmed

Whipcracking will return to the Fair with a demonstration by Mark Schultz and the inaugural ‘Jack Wallace Memorial Whipcracking Competion’ judged by Mark and open to all ages.

The Henry Kendall Festival presented by the MU Historical Society is at the church hall on both days, photos and memorabilia will be on display from the life of Henry Kendall who was born in Milton.

Sunday night you can see one of Australia’s best up and coming performers Holly Throsby at the Milton Theatre, presented by artFEST & MUD Music Council.

The historic township of Milton is located in the Shoalhaven on the South Coast of NSW, with magnificent views of the sea to the East and the mountains to the west. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the warm country atmosphere of this two day festival with something for everyone.
