scarecrow festival MiltonWhat?! You’ve never been to Milton’s Scarecrow Festival? Well you just don’t know what you’ve been missing.

The community of Milton invites everyone to our  annual Milton Scarecrow Festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the June long weekend, 2010.

There will be plenty of appeal and activities for all ages. Starting on Friday June 11 at 4.30pm with the Shoalhaven Anglican School Mega Fete and fireworks. Croobyar Road Milton.

Come along to Milton on Saturday and Sunday, participate, win a prize or just be entertained and enjoy all that Milton Village has to offer, great fashion boutiques, cafes, home wares, antiques, two pubs and supermarket plus parklands and picnic grounds for the family to relax.

2010 theme is the “Classic Traditional Scarecrows of the 1800s” from the days of old.

Saturday is markets, music and scarecrows hanging around. Sunday is the Big Scarecrow day, everybody brings their scarecrow to town.

Milton Scarecrow FestivalMilton Village gets invaded by real scare crows and people dressed up as scare crows, there can be more than a hundred wonderful creative entrants all vying for the coveted best scarecrow certificate title for 2010.

On Sunday as well as the scarecrows there is lots of fabulous entertainment kicking off at 10 am, with a focus on local talent, guests will be amazed at the level of talent performing dance, music, song, circus, magic, street theatre, farm yard animals, games and rides. Everything an old fashioned country town can offer.

Leading up to the festival scarecrows start appearing throughout the neighbourhood, climbing trees and fences, sitting around and waiting for the big day.

There are also many scarecrows who travel from far to win one of the many prizes.

Register your Scarecrow at the info desk located in the main street on Saturday and Sunday (by 12 noon) for judging.
