Milton Church of England Cemetery

The Church of England Cemetery is located on Croobyar Road, near the corner of Princes Highway Milton NSW; the locality was original called East Milton. From over 170 burials there are 32 known headstones. There may have been other headstones but even by 1901 there were reports of broken headstones.

The earliest known burial is 1859 with the last burial in 1903, there are 172 burials and there are no Aboriginal people buried at the Milton Church of England Pioneer Memorial Cemetery. The said land was authorised as a Church of England Burial ground in July 1863. The former cemetery is not listed on the NSW Heritage Inventory, but is listed in the Shoalhaven Local Environment Plan, 1985 with local heritage significance and with the National Trust.

Historian Cathy Dunn has published a 35 page ebook (pdf) on the burials at this cemetery which includes profiles on the individuals and some photos of headstones.  Cost is $15.00
