This report was presented at the October 1999 meeting of the Milton Ulladulla Historical Society. I have recently started a study of all Serviceman and women from the Milton Ulladulla district (1914 1918). This is a follow on a heritage report on the Milton War Memorial that was completed in 1997 as part of my university studies in Graduate Diploma in Applied and Local History. There are 300 names in the data base of servicemen & women who were either born or enlisted in WW1 from Milton Ulladulla, with a per capita rate of enlistment about double that of the national average. The first local meeting of what today is known as the RSL was held at the Diggers Rest in Milton in October 1919. Copies of this report have been deposited with: Milton Ulladulla Historical Society, State Library Sydney, National Library Canberra, War Memorial Canberra, RSL Milton Ulladulla, Veteran Affairs Department. This will give future generations the opportunity to understand and appreciate Australias war heritage at a local level.
