last, the LADY of Richard Atkins, Esq. Judge
Advocate, after a painful illness of several
months, which has at length deprived the world of a
Lady, whose virtues could alone be equalled by the
exemplary patience and fortitude and which she
endured the visitation of sickness, and the true
Christian resignation with which she as last
submitted to the call of Death. The funeral
obsequies took place on Thursday afternoon, and
were numerously and most respectably

death being of a boating accident in Broken Bay.
Pate (owner) and James Dicey also lost their lives.
The bodies were found on a reef nearly 4 miles from
the heads of Broken Bay and interned on the morning
of Thursday last. Frederick Meredith administered
Mary Kirk's estate. She had a house near the
hospital at the Rocks along with its contents. A
call for creditors was placed in the Sydney Gazette
8 Apr 1809, not long over a week since her
