Harold Warren Francis

The youngest of the Francis’s Brothers was Harold who was born January 1898 at Milton, he was affectional known as Harry. He was worked a s the letter carrier with Milton Post Office when he left to join the Light Horse Cadet training in September 1916 at the age of 18 years.

Harold enlisted for active service in April 1918 with his father’s permission as he was only 20 years old. He was the shortest of the boys with a height of 5’ 4” that’s 150cm tall in today’s measurements. He served with the NSW Reinforcements of the 4th Battalion in England and returned home to Australia in September 1919.
