Funding Boost for Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club

Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock has today announced $52,500 in NSW Government funding for Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club as part of the 2017/18 Surf Club Facility Program.

Funding has been provided to construct an additional storage facility for the Club’s equipment.

“The aim of this program is to increase the availability, standard and quality of surf lifesaving clubs in NSW for the benefit of their members and the wider community,” Mrs Hancock said.

“For over 83 years, the Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club has protected the southern Shoalhaven community, from Green Island in the north to Dolphin Point in the south.

“I am pleased to be part of the Berejiklian Government which supports our Surf Clubs, particularly those on the South Coast who day-in and day-out put themselves in harm’s way in order to protect beach goers.

“Surf Life Saving NSW does immensely important work- saving lives and providing opportunities for people of all ages to get fit and healthy.Surf Life Saving

“The NSW Government wants to make the work of life savers as easy as possible – we can’t control the water but we can improve facilities like this.

“This year we have seen a busy season for our beaches and I hope these funds go some way to express our appreciation for the amazing work these volunteers do.

“I have been pleased to secure over $250,000 in funding for Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club for essential upgrades to their club house and the purchase of additional equipment. This additional $52,500 will ensure volunteers have the facilities they need to store their life saving equipment.

“It is a great pleasure to able to advocate on behalf of our community and to see results like this,” Mrs Hancock said.
