All roads will lead to Mollymook Beach Reserve on Australia Day as the region celebrates our Proud Past, Bright Future.
In addition to Citizen of the Year Award ceremony the Australia Day Celebration event will feature, song and dance on stage, over 110 market stalls, community group displays, children’s rides, and competitions. Hosted by the Ulladulla Milton Lions Club and proudly sponsored by Shoalhaven City Council.
The 2010 Australia Day Celebrations will take place at Mollymook Beach Reserve. The day is jam packed with song dance and family entertainment.
A special feature on stage will be the final of the Times Youth Music Scholarship competition. In addition to the show on stage there will be displays of local history, dog training and vintage cars, various rides and competitions, together with the popular Lions Club Beach Markets with over 110 stalls. Shaded spectator seating, food and drinks will be available on-site.
The celebrations are organised by the Ulladulla Milton Lions Club and supported by Shoalhaven City Council. The festivities commence at 9am and conclude at 2:30pm. Entry to this event is free.
Ulladulla District Citizenship Australia Day Awards
During the Australia Day celebrations for 2010, the Lions Club of Ulladulla Milton will be presenting the Ulladulla District Citizenship Awards. The Lions Club is therefore calling for nominations from the Ulladulla district for individuals and organisations who have served the area with distinction in the year 2008 and who should be recognised with a Citizen award in a ceremony to take place at the Australia Day Celebrations. There are three categories for these awards:
1. Ulladulla District Citizen of the Year
2. Ulladulla District Young Citizen of the Year
3. Ulladulla District Organisation of the Year
Who were the Pioneers of Milton?
Yes Milton is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2010 and on Australia Day Tuesday January 26, public Historian Cathy Dunn will feature the final resting place of the many pioneer families of Milton on the tour of Sandridge Cemetery at Mollymook at 11.30am.

The theme for the 2010 Australia Day celebrations will be Ulladulla- Proud Past, Bright Future. Entertainment
Throughout the day local musicians will entertain the crowd with music, dance and others. Along with the Ulladulla Milton Lion’s Citizen Awards Awards. The popular Lions Club Beach Markets stalls will open at 9am.
Fun and Games
As part of the fun-packed day, some of the best-ever Aussie Competitions will be conducted for all ages. There will be kite flying, colouring in competitions and kids fun games and the Tug-o-War.
Displays
Displays include the NSW Fire Brigade community education, along with Community, Tourism and Heritage information. Plus on display will be a range of Australian family history with many local & regional history records.
Citizenship Ceremony
Shoalhaven Mayor Paul Green will administer the ceremony culminating in the Australian Citizenship pledges for two people receiving their new citizenship, one from New Zealand and one from the United Kingdom.
The Ulladulla Milton Lions Club is responsible for the Ulladulla District Australia Day Celebrations. This event is held on January 26th each year at Mollymook Beach Reserve. The event is recognised as the official district celebrations by the Australia Day Council and is financially supported by Shoalhaven City Council.
Winner of last year’s Citizen of the Year Awards was, Ruth Richards of Ulladulla. Ruth was recognised for her extraordinary contribution to the district of Ulladulla Milton over many years, especially through the Community Forum together with contributions through other organisations including Milton Branch of the CWA, Ulladulla Meals on Wheels, The Entertainers and Milton Follies, Blessing of the Fleet, Milton Show, St Martins Church and Anglicare, Senior Citizens, Yurana and Noahs Ark. The year 2008 Citizen of the Year was Gayle Dunn, leader of the Dunn and Lewis Youth Development Foundation.
